Red Hot, Hot Pants!! – Look for Less
I’ve been dying for a pair of red pants lately. Why? I guess the real question here is why not. They’re fun, a great way to make a statement, and hey it’s one of my school’s colors. So I took one pair of rockin red pants and put together three different ways to wear them!
To start, here’s an awesome pair of red chinos from H&M for only $29.95.
What’s black and white and red all over? You in this simple and chic outfit! Sorry, I couldn’t resist this cheesy line. I love just a simple black shirt, that let the pants do the work. Wear a pair of black TOMS to complete the look. Or you could take the concept of this outfit and transition it into the workplace by wearing a white blouse and black heels instead.
Now let’s try our red pants with a printed top. Chevrons, or zig-zags, have been a really big trend this summer; try it out with this top from Forever 21. With a pair of neutral wedges and some gold accessories (try a cocktail ring to make a statement) you are set to go wherever.
Lastly, I love to color block (for more tips and tricks on color blocking see: The Cure to Spring Fever), and I think red pants are perfect to pull this look off. Colors I like to wear red with are aqua, navy and purple. Try this simple purple top from The Gap for only $16.95. For a casual look pair your red pants with these versatile nude flats from Payless for $16.99. To add a little flair to your look check out this neutral tone bib necklace from Kohl’s, the price is unbeatable!
Or if you’re looking for something a little different and trendy, try wearing these red chinos with an animal print or chambray top. This super trendy peplum leopard print top from ASOS is the purrfect (I had to) way to wear animal prints with red pants. Then this chambray top from Ann Taylor on sale for $49.99 is your denim fix!
