Olivia Palermo at Valentino: Look for Less
We love Olivia Palermo’s style so much here on Reality Chic. Since I was majorly crushing on all of her picks from Paris Fashion Week 2012, it would be a slight disgrace if I didn’t share it. They were simply perfection. One of my favorite looks of hers is when she attended the Valentino show.
Some how, Palermo manages to pull off a girly yet edgy ensemble. She wears a lovely lace pink dress, yet she manages to make it look high fashion through her choices in accessorizes. Walah… the power of accessorizing.
Palermo pairs her tiered lace and sheer dress with a white skinny belt, that pinches at the waist, creating a flattering silhouette for any body type. She accessorizes with bright red nails, a great clutch, leopard print sunglasses, and fabulous black heels covered in studs. With her hair pulled up half way into a simple up-do, paired with some pearl studs, Palermo pulls this look off perfectly.
So how can you be so girly yet so trendy and spend half (or less!) of what Palermo did? It’s a tough question, but I’m up for the challenge.
Try out this lace dress from ModCloth, belt already included! This dress can easily be dressed up or down depending on where you’re going. Next, wear these awesome studded black and gold heels. They’re the perfect contrast from the feminine pink and lace dress.
Pair with your favorite pearl studs, like this classic pair from shopbop.com. Next, pick out a red or pink nail polish; I love the color “big bag theory” by Essie, for only $8.00. Grab a similar leopard print pair at Forever 21 to keep the sun out, in style.
Pull out your favorite neutral clutch, such as this nude and gold embellished envelope clutch from ASOS, to complete your Olivia Palermo look!
Dress: $42.99 + Heels: $38.90 + Earrings: $16.00 + Clutch: $29.83 + Nail Polish: $8.00 + Sunglasses: $5.80
Total Cost = $141.52
So don’t be afraid to take a fashion risk and dress as boldly as Olivia Palermo does!
