 It’s no secret that my mom and I are extremely close. We talk almost every day and even carry around the same bad habits such as having the obsessive yet unknowingly need to make weird Zoolander faces when looking in the mirror (which is why this morning it took us approximately nine attempts & two e-mails to successfully conquer these two semi-descent photos).

That being said, we haven’t lived in the same state since I graduated high school. Unfortunately, it’s not only me who is far away from my parents, but it’s my sister and brother as well. Traveling from Indiana to Ohio to Massachusetts to Texas isn’t exactly a straight shot for any of us. So we literally rely on e-mail, phone calls, and SKYPE to keep us all connected.

Just like myself, many others have spent their twenties figuring out where they want to be, not only in a literal sense but in a personal sense as well. Moving around from job to job, state to state, or apartment to house before ever settling is considered normal behavior. In fact, I would encourage it. Yet by doing this, it makes it somewhat difficult to see and interact with the people who care most about you and who you care most about.
